Show Notes

This week on Spellbound, the girls dive into theories surrounding the release of the sixth and seventh books in Sarah J. Maas’s ACOTAR series. (Come onnn, October!)

Along the way, they air their grievances with the American healthcare system, surmise why Harry and Meghan are moving back to the UK (Netflix: With love, we’re good.), and get appropriately excited for the upcoming movie Wicker, where Alexander Skarsgård is tall, hot, and entirely made of patio furniture.

Somewhere in the midst of it all, they may or may not have confused plot points from across the romantasy multiverse and accidentally created their own alternate reality.

[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. Welcome to Spellbound. I'm Deidre. [00:00:08] Speaker B: And I'm Jillian. [00:00:09] Speaker A: And this is a podcast where we serve up a healthy dose of romance, pop culture, and just a little millennial melee for good measure. [00:00:17] Speaker B: Love it. [00:00:17] Speaker A: Do you know what time it is? [00:00:19] Speaker B: It is Proof of Life. Proof of life. I never saw that movie. Did you say that movie? [00:00:24] Speaker A: Is it a movie? [00:00:25] Speaker B: I think there's a movie with Julia Roberts. [00:00:28] Speaker A: Okay, put it on the list. [00:00:29] Speaker B: We gotta. [00:00:30] Speaker A: We gotta watch the films I'll never see. Sure. It was a hit. It was a hit. [00:00:37] Speaker B: I think it was a hit. [00:00:38] Speaker A: Yeah, probably. [00:00:39] Speaker B: Anyway, what's your proof? [00:00:41] Speaker A: What's been going on? You know, things been. I have been doing full adult things. I've been taking care of all the yearly appointments. We got our eyes checked today. [00:00:50] Speaker B: Okay, perfect. [00:00:51] Speaker A: Happy to report we're still near sighted as hell, but we are healthy. There's been no change. [00:00:56] Speaker B: No change. [00:00:56] Speaker A: Yeah, I got that a couple weeks ago. [00:00:58] Speaker B: Yep. [00:00:58] Speaker A: God bless. Got my teeth clean this week. [00:01:02] Speaker B: Love it. [00:01:03] Speaker A: Got some spot I got. I gotta, you know, stop clinching. Had to get a. Had to get a new night guard. Oh, I lost my last night guard. [00:01:10] Speaker B: Okay. [00:01:11] Speaker A: You know, the American insurance industry is nonsense because I wanted to use my insurance to get a new night guard. And they're like one every five years, girl. I don't know what to tell you. [00:01:20] Speaker B: Really? How much do they cost? [00:01:22] Speaker A: I don't know. I had a higher quote a few months ago from another dentist office that I was going to that, like, weirdly stopped taking my insurance. I'm like, my money's no good here. [00:01:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:01:32] Speaker A: What do you mean? And so anyway, they. This dentist office that I'm really excited about because it's literally, like, right across the street from my place. [00:01:42] Speaker B: No, that's amazing. [00:01:43] Speaker A: Which is great. And I go in there, they're playing Janet Jackson's all for you. [00:01:46] Speaker B: Okay, here we go. [00:01:47] Speaker A: I'm sitting in that chair. Sorry. You asked me about the cost of the. The thing. [00:01:50] Speaker B: I'll get to it. [00:01:51] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm sitting in the chair. I'm like, laid back. There's Bob Ross on the television painting. [00:01:57] Speaker B: Comfortable scene. I want to go here. Oh, my God. [00:02:01] Speaker A: Also, by the way, all children should just watch Bob Ross painting. That's a child show. [00:02:06] Speaker B: And. And they need that, like, kind of calming, like, settling voice and image. [00:02:13] Speaker A: I was in there. Like, I should watch this before bed. [00:02:15] Speaker B: Oh, my God. I know. [00:02:16] Speaker A: I mean, I was. I was. I was put to. And I'm not an anxious person when I go to the dentist because I. I typically have good things going on. They're typically like, let's just clean floss, make sure you're, like, paying attention around grow. We'll see in six months. [00:02:30] Speaker B: Right, right. [00:02:31] Speaker A: So to go in there. But I was, like, distracted the entire time by this man painting these majestic landscapes. It's 30 minutes flat. [00:02:39] Speaker B: Is that what you watched in the chair? [00:02:40] Speaker A: Yeah, listen, because there's a TV here straight ahead of me. And when they laid me back, Jillian, it was on the ceiling looking dead at my face. Then when it was time for the dentist to come in and do the whole thing, they, you know, I had pictures and whatever, taking on my teeth. They pulled my teeth up on that screen and they were showing me. I was like, that's not having my oral history on. Anybody walking by could just see what's going on. They're like, we just really. We're just going to want to monitor these spots back here. I've got a couple spots where I think, like, it's wearing down because of, like, grinding my teeth, whatever. But that's. [00:03:13] Speaker B: That's crazy. My dentist. You know what? They play Great British Bake off, which, [00:03:17] Speaker A: like, that's in the same family. [00:03:19] Speaker B: Well, it's. It is in the same family, but it also. It's like a very strange thing to. To play at a dentist's office. [00:03:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:26] Speaker B: Like, it's just like. That's like sugar. [00:03:28] Speaker A: Good point. Because my hygienist was like, we don't want to put shoot food. Food on if, you know, that's something that we're trying to avoid for at least 30 minutes. [00:03:36] Speaker B: Exactly. Oh, my God. Exactly. So it's like, you can go home and paint. Yeah, but. [00:03:41] Speaker A: But yeah, to answer your question, all in. It cost me, I think about like a 500 for the nightguard. [00:03:45] Speaker B: Okay. [00:03:46] Speaker A: Okay. Which they were. The other place was quoted me, like, 900, like, a few months ago. And I was like, you're gonna have to wait to wait for that. Yeah. Yeah. And so it's been nice just to kind of get things taken care of this week. [00:03:58] Speaker B: That always feels really good. Yeah. [00:04:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So, yeah, that's my. What else has been on. I feel like there's other things. I always come and sit down in front of the microphone, and I'm like, like, just another day, another dollar, another day. [00:04:13] Speaker B: I mean, just, you know, insurance companies taking everything. [00:04:16] Speaker A: Jesus Christ. Yes. That's another thing. Y build by. I went to the emergency room. No one panic. No one panicked. It's fine. [00:04:23] Speaker B: Everything's okay. [00:04:24] Speaker A: I shouldn't have panicked, honestly, for as much as they're trying to stiff me. [00:04:27] Speaker B: Oh God. [00:04:28] Speaker A: But anyway, I got, I went to the emergency room a couple, a few weeks ago, two weeks ago maybe at this point because I thought I was experiencing a blood clot, deep vein thrombosis. [00:04:37] Speaker B: Dvt. No, you gotta go. [00:04:40] Speaker A: And I go in there with an emergency, right? Like, oh my God, this is an emergency. They sat my happy ass in that waiting room for five hours. [00:04:48] Speaker B: Oh my God. [00:04:49] Speaker A: 4:15 in the morning, I'm jolted awake. [00:04:52] Speaker B: No. Oh, really? You fell asleep? [00:04:54] Speaker A: Well, I was like, you know, when I think back on that night, I think I was like, eyes were awake, my brain was fully asleep. They put me, they took me back in the back. Thank God. It was getting real weird there at about 4:15 in the morning. God bless. But I mean the folks that they were bringing in that night, one man in particular had set his sights on me and I said, I've got to get out of here. But anyway, they took me back there and they did a D. Dimer, you know, sort of test on my blood. I told you in sort of a side conversation that doctor was well worth the wait. He was a kitty. [00:05:27] Speaker B: Oh, I love it. [00:05:28] Speaker A: Yeah, he was wonderful. Heard my needs, listened to me, examined my calf and my knee just there overnight. Did the whole thing. He was like, we can keep you here until the ultrasound folks come in in the morning, but if this blood test comes back and I don't really see an issue, you're free to go. [00:05:44] Speaker B: And you were like, how long are you here till? [00:05:46] Speaker A: Yeah. And ultimately he released me to the wild. I belong to the streets. [00:05:50] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Discharge. Discharge. [00:05:53] Speaker A: With a, might I add, right now, as it stands, a three thousand dollar bill that because they didn't, they're trying to bill me without like my insurance. That's speaking up first. I was talking to my mom about this yesterday. I'm like, think if you were like somebody who like doesn't understand what's going on for sure, maybe you're elderly. Whatever you get speaking. Yes, yes. And you get this letter. Well, first of all, I should have known something was up. I've been getting a couple mailings this week from like companies being like, you know, we can help you, like financial support. And I was like, I was, I was grounding myself, waiting. I was like, they're about to hit me with some nonsense in this bill. [00:06:28] Speaker B: How do they know? That's really scary. [00:06:32] Speaker A: So anyway, the. Yeah, so I get this bill, I open it up and I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. Your billing company will be hearing from me. And sure enough, they did. And it's sitting with insurance right now. I haven't gotten any notification from insurance, but. Yeah, you know what? Let me add that to my to do list because I will be calling them. [00:06:53] Speaker B: Yeah, Yeah. I mean, but it's an. It's also a nightmare to call the insurance company because, like, they also kind of, like, act like. Like, I am in the healthcare field, so, like, I know some things about insurance, but, like, it also is, like, so confusing, and they make me feel like I'm, like, dumb. And I'm like, wait, okay, hold on. Out of pocket. Like it's confusing. [00:07:19] Speaker A: You're like, sweetheart, the whole thing is out of pocket. [00:07:21] Speaker B: Okay? I know. Seriously, the whole operation was out of pocket. [00:07:27] Speaker A: Jesus Christ. [00:07:28] Speaker B: Jesus Christ. I mean, it's getting worse, too. Yeah. [00:07:31] Speaker A: Maybe I should just take this bill as a suggestion. [00:07:34] Speaker B: I think so. [00:07:35] Speaker A: Thank you so much. We'll keep this in mind. We'll let you know. [00:07:37] Speaker B: Well, and here's the thing. I. Okay, so Northwestern, they're gonna get their money. I mean, I go to, like, several doctors and in several different places. I have never in my life. Northwestern, the day later is like, UO 1367. Yeah. And they report you to collections, which they're not allowed to do, apparently. That's, like, illegal in Illinois. [00:08:04] Speaker A: Not them being henchmen. [00:08:08] Speaker B: Yep. [00:08:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, I mean, you know, they say the mob runs deep in Chicago. Who knew? They're sitting up there. [00:08:18] Speaker B: That's. That's what it is now. Basically, this is the mob now. [00:08:23] Speaker A: They're going to get you one way or another. You need to go into witness protection. [00:08:29] Speaker B: Seriously. I'm like, sorry, I didn't pay the $13. [00:08:34] Speaker A: You're like, we'll see you in court. Yeah, but that's. That's. That's my proof of life. [00:08:40] Speaker B: Proof of life. Proof of life. It's a good proof of life. [00:08:43] Speaker A: Yes. What's going on in your world? [00:08:46] Speaker B: Not much. I'm trying to think. I am very excited for the Renaissance Fair this week. [00:08:52] Speaker A: I'm doing a full cultural immersion. Full. [00:08:55] Speaker B: Yes. I'm very excited. Well, it's not much. I mean, work is kind of crazy. That's it. I'm excited for fall. It's really nice weather out. [00:09:06] Speaker A: We are getting nice weather every time I talk to my family in North Carolina. My mom today said, it is brutally hot today. Yes. So they're down there. They're swell. They're sweltering. I hate it. Yeah, it's the humidity. [00:09:20] Speaker B: The humidity. It's going to get you. [00:09:21] Speaker A: It's going to get you every time. Northwestern Mutual. Not Northwestern Mutual. Jesus. Northwestern Hospital and humidity. [00:09:28] Speaker B: You're going to get you every time. [00:09:31] Speaker A: They're going to get what they're coming for. [00:09:34] Speaker B: That's it. That's. Would you. Would you. [00:09:36] Speaker A: Thanks so much for listening in today. [00:09:38] Speaker B: Seriously. I guess we just wanted to prove that we're here. [00:09:42] Speaker A: Just a little pulse check. [00:09:44] Speaker B: Just. Just give you our discharge planning. [00:09:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:48] Speaker B: Well, are we ready for a little. [00:09:49] Speaker A: Here. Ye. Here. Yes. Okay. Love that little jingle. A little jingle jangle. Before I left the house today, I told you that I saw some news that we could talk about. Guess who's moving back to the uk. [00:10:05] Speaker B: Who? [00:10:06] Speaker A: Harry and Meghan. [00:10:08] Speaker B: Shut the up. [00:10:09] Speaker A: Are they really? Breaking news tonight on the Nightly News. Yeah, they're moving back to the uk. They're gone. [00:10:16] Speaker B: I mean, I get it, but kind of not. [00:10:19] Speaker A: I'm a little bit like, let's pick a lane. [00:10:20] Speaker B: Yeah, let's pick a lane. Why don't you move to the east coast or move somewhere else? Yeah, move to, like, you know. [00:10:28] Speaker A: Yeah, Canada. [00:10:29] Speaker B: Yeah, she's. She's. [00:10:31] Speaker A: She used to camp Canada. She was working up there. [00:10:33] Speaker B: Yeah. Wait, why are they moving back to the uk? [00:10:36] Speaker A: I don't know. I didn't get the full cool story, but yeah, they're moving back to the great big uk. [00:10:42] Speaker B: They're gonna be like. Like part of the Royal Family again. [00:10:46] Speaker A: I don't know, like, working. I thought that they rescinded his offer, but it's ridiculous. [00:10:51] Speaker B: Working royal. [00:10:54] Speaker A: I don't know what they're gonna be doing over there. I feel like that it's weird to be going back behind any lines. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I, you know, climate, I guess in California, like, climate change and the whole Netflix thing didn't really work out. [00:11:06] Speaker A: No. I am a little bit, like, I do feel like. Like employment opportunities are running a bit thin over here. [00:11:12] Speaker B: Yeah. So. [00:11:14] Speaker A: But I don't know what they're going to find over there. [00:11:15] Speaker B: I don't think they're going to find anything unless they want to be working royals again. Like. And he just went there, like he hadn't been there a really long time. And so I think. And he went. He took his kids. [00:11:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:27] Speaker B: And that must have gone well, I think. I think you maybe saw his dad. [00:11:33] Speaker A: So now are they just going to have to eat everything they've said? [00:11:36] Speaker B: I don't know. I don't. Or. Or they'll just be like, we're not. Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. So I'll have to look that up. But they're probably taking her mom, right? Her mom lives here. Yeah. I don't know, but maybe her. Maybe King. King isn't doing well. [00:11:54] Speaker A: Maybe. [00:11:55] Speaker B: I don't know. I was thinking about this yesterday because I'm like rewatching the Crown and I was like, who even talks about King Charles? [00:12:02] Speaker A: Like, I think that's his problem. Nobody talks about it. [00:12:06] Speaker B: Nobody got. Nobody care. [00:12:07] Speaker A: That's really his whole thing. His whole thing, his whole life that he does not. Nobody gives a about what's going on. [00:12:14] Speaker B: He was like waiting to be king and now no one cares. It's like everybody cared about Queen Elizabeth, but nobody cares. [00:12:20] Speaker A: Exactly. You know. What's the actor's name? Josh o'. Connell. [00:12:24] Speaker B: Yeah, Josh o'. Connor. [00:12:26] Speaker A: Connor. Josh o'. Connor. [00:12:27] Speaker B: Love him. [00:12:30] Speaker A: What a. What an actor. [00:12:31] Speaker B: Because he played Charles. Yeah. In the Crown. [00:12:34] Speaker A: To see him not in that role. When I see him outside of that role in other roles, I'm like, you know what? I see the vision. [00:12:39] Speaker B: Huh. I know that role. [00:12:41] Speaker A: I'm like, this is something. [00:12:42] Speaker B: No, I know. He was like, kind of like really, like mopey. Yeah, yeah. [00:12:48] Speaker A: You know who I live for? Who we should have had more time with is Margaret. The Queen sister. [00:12:54] Speaker B: Loved Margaret. We really should have. Yeah. [00:12:58] Speaker A: More of her. I want like a spin off show about her. [00:13:01] Speaker B: Yeah, me too. Me too. [00:13:02] Speaker A: It was. [00:13:03] Speaker B: It was like a really sad, like the whole thing. And then they made what's his face. I mean, he. It did. He did seem like a dick. But the guy who abdicated. [00:13:12] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. [00:13:14] Speaker B: They like made him just sound awful and he was. But like, that's really. [00:13:19] Speaker A: I mean, what's that actor that I like? You know, the one that I like over there? The Irish one? Or is he. Is he British? Matthew. [00:13:25] Speaker B: Matthew. Matthew. Good. [00:13:28] Speaker A: Matthew, good play. Tony. And I was like, let's just make a show about this. [00:13:33] Speaker B: The little, the little like photography studio scene. [00:13:38] Speaker A: Yeah, he had the Riz in that. In that role. [00:13:40] Speaker B: He absolutely did. [00:13:41] Speaker A: You go back and just watch those episodes? [00:13:44] Speaker B: Just those episodes. [00:13:45] Speaker A: What season is that too? [00:13:47] Speaker B: I think it's two, because I think it's still what's her face playing it. [00:13:51] Speaker A: Those were, those were good seasons. [00:13:53] Speaker B: Those one and two was great. I mean, I love Olivia Coleman and we'll get into Olivia Coleman, but Olivia [00:14:00] Speaker A: Coleman's got a lot going on with her. I love a woman taking creative risk. [00:14:07] Speaker B: She is taking the mo. The riskiest risk. And of course we're talking about the Movie, the film coming out called Wicker. [00:14:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:16] Speaker B: Now why don't you describe what you think Wicker is going to be. [00:14:19] Speaker A: Okay, take Pinocchio. [00:14:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:14:22] Speaker A: And Frankenstein, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. And just you know, put those elements together in a really creative way. And then maybe a little bit of a like Romanasy elements and the fact that like it's, it's very like, it's make believe, it's unbelievable what happens. But essentially you've got this woman who lives in like this pre industrial revolution, like little township. She seems to be liking her life as it is. She's not married, she has no children and she just, you know, does her job on a day to day basis. But still she's hounded by people asking her like where her man's. Right. And she's like, I don't give a about and I don't want any of these men. So she goes to some like, seems like magical person there in the town and says, make me a husband. He turned. This is, I'm, you know, I'm summarizing based on the, on the trailer, whatever that I've seen. She goes, this magical person in the, in the township, she goes, make me a husband. He goes, meet me at the church on Sunday at like 4. She's like, bet I'll be there. So anyway, our girl gets up, she goes down to the west, she goes down to the chapel. She don't know who she's gonna find. She's probably thinking she's gonna like find some random man. [00:15:30] Speaker B: Right, Right, right, right. [00:15:32] Speaker A: Lo and behold, this magical man has made a absolute unit of a man out of a wicker basket played by none other than Alexander Skarsgard. [00:15:42] Speaker B: We had a rattan Alexander. Yes. [00:15:45] Speaker A: And he sees her and he's like immediately in love with her. Like, no questions asked. Like, I will move mountains for you, sweetheart. You are my woman. Meanwhile, the rest of the trailer is just scenes of Olivia Colman's character getting her back. Absolutely blown out. [00:16:02] Speaker B: There are so many jokes about splinters. Yeah, like, please answer this. [00:16:07] Speaker A: I'm trying to understand what's going on. Like what is. Is, is it all anatomically wicker? What's going on? [00:16:13] Speaker B: Right. Well, here's the thing is you remember Wicked for good? [00:16:20] Speaker A: That like wicked and wicker. Wicker for good. Wicker for good. [00:16:23] Speaker B: Seriously. Maybe we'll get a second one. But we could be so lucky. Wait, seriously? Maybe this will be like a series. Yeah. And we'll just get other. Yeah. But in the end, when Jonathan Bailey became this, the what's his name? This. [00:16:41] Speaker A: The Straw man. [00:16:42] Speaker B: Yeah. The strong man. I was gonna say the scarecrow. Yeah. His face kind of looks like that. Like, it's just a weird thing. [00:16:51] Speaker A: It looks like a, you know, one of those, like. Like, what's the bags like? The. I don't know. [00:16:56] Speaker B: Oh, burlap. [00:16:56] Speaker A: Yeah, burlap. It's giving that. [00:16:59] Speaker B: I'm actually, like, really excited for this. [00:17:02] Speaker A: I am, too, but I am a little bit, like, what's the deal here? Are they supposed to, like, just, you know, ride off into the sunset, live happily ever after? Is it a little bit of, like, a. When the clock strikes midnight turns into a longer burger basket? Like, what's going on? Yeah. [00:17:17] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or. Yeah. Is he somehow going to turn into a real man? Like a real. A real boy? [00:17:23] Speaker A: A real boy. You love him enough. [00:17:27] Speaker B: I'm so. [00:17:28] Speaker A: He'll turn into the real thing. Yeah. I'm super excited about it, too, so. [00:17:31] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, the girlies are excited. Yeah. [00:17:34] Speaker A: I mean, things are so bad that we're so bad. [00:17:38] Speaker B: We're like, I'll take a rattan chair. Lounger. Yeah. [00:17:43] Speaker A: I'm like. I'm trying to see what it looks like. Rip it out. [00:17:45] Speaker B: Seriously. I mean, and maybe it will, like, correct my memory of pillion. Like, you know. [00:17:53] Speaker A: I don't think so. I don't think so. [00:17:56] Speaker B: I can't even. Mikey, this is one thing we don't agree on. [00:18:00] Speaker A: We're just not gonna see eye to eye. I think pillion's, like, extended cut just is on, like, HBO Max or something. [00:18:08] Speaker B: Can't do it. Can't do it. I don't want to see that. Yeah, I think you should look into it. [00:18:12] Speaker A: No. [00:18:12] Speaker B: My God, I was scarred by that movie. [00:18:15] Speaker A: You were? Yeah. It was rough. [00:18:17] Speaker B: I have, like, intrusive, like, images. [00:18:20] Speaker A: Oh, like, haunting you. [00:18:21] Speaker B: It is haunting me. It's seriously, like when he, like, has him sleep on the floor and then. Yeah. No, I didn't like it. [00:18:30] Speaker A: Are you talking to therapists about this? [00:18:33] Speaker B: I haven't brought it up, but maybe I will. [00:18:36] Speaker A: Are you, like, listen, this is triggering to me. [00:18:38] Speaker B: God. Like, don't see this movie, but I'll tell you about it. [00:18:42] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely. [00:18:46] Speaker B: Well, yeah, so I think today we're gonna. Are you. Are we all done with. Yeah, you have another one. [00:18:50] Speaker A: There was those two. And also, you know, really sad this week about the passing of Hayden Panettiere. [00:18:56] Speaker B: Yeah, that was really sad. [00:18:58] Speaker A: And the news also, you know, they're going. They're talking about Harry and Megan moving back to the uk and then they give an update on this, too. It's. They're like, it's gonna be weeks before we, like, know any sort of cause of death. The whole thing is just so tragic and sad. [00:19:11] Speaker B: It seems like maybe because she was with the boyfriend that. But also, like, I think that it was either an intentional or accidental overdose. I think that's maybe what it was. [00:19:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:19:22] Speaker B: Because that can lead to cardiac arrest. Yeah. It's just really sad. Like, I mean. And her mom sounds awful. [00:19:30] Speaker A: There's gonna be a lot coming out of this, I'm sure. [00:19:33] Speaker B: And it needs to, you know, I mean, there was, like, stuff about, like, Drew Barrymore has always been honest about it. [00:19:40] Speaker A: What a sad story that is, too. I mean, God bless. We have her with us. But it could have gone a totally different way, that one. [00:19:47] Speaker B: Well, and there's no, you know, so, like, Amanda Bynes, people just, like, laugh about. But, like, there's a reason that's one [00:19:54] Speaker A: of the most tragic stories to me, that is. That girl was talented. [00:19:58] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, some, you know, Miley Cyrus. I made it out. I'm sure she would be like, I didn't really make it out. Like, I. Yeah. [00:20:07] Speaker A: But I think she's probably presenting better than others. [00:20:10] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah, exactly. I mean, I just can't even imagine. Like, look at what's going on with Ariana Grande. Like, it just is. If you start, like, hearing that from such a young age, it's. Yeah. I can't even imagine. Yeah. [00:20:26] Speaker A: Yeah. That's all the Hear ye, Hear ye for me this week. [00:20:29] Speaker B: Well, I have one about John Hamm. [00:20:32] Speaker A: Let's do it. [00:20:34] Speaker B: So Jon Hamm is married to a woman 16 years his junior, I believe. [00:20:39] Speaker A: Oh, sure. [00:20:40] Speaker B: And he's 15, 55, and she's pregnant. They're having a baby. When he. This man was in a relationship with Jennifer Westfeldt, who I love. She wrote the, like, Friends with Kids or something. Like, just kind of exploring, like, you know, when your friends are having kids, like. [00:21:00] Speaker A: And what was the deal? He was saying that he didn't want it. He wasn't. He didn't want kids. [00:21:04] Speaker B: He was like, yeah. He was like. They were both like, yeah, we're, you know, kind of child free. [00:21:08] Speaker A: Blah, blah, blah, blah. [00:21:09] Speaker B: He was like. He at one point was like, I can't. Like, I can't even imagine what kind of dad I would be. [00:21:15] Speaker A: That probably still stands, by the way. [00:21:17] Speaker B: Oh, for sure. And he then had to go, like, he went to rehab for alcohol addiction. She stood by him. And then he Leaves her for a woman who is 16 years his junior, and then they have a kid together. I hate it. [00:21:35] Speaker A: I hate it, too. Yep. [00:21:37] Speaker B: Off the base is. Is unclean. [00:21:41] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:21:43] Speaker B: The foundation is. [00:21:45] Speaker A: Yeah. There's cracks everywhere. Yeah. Get it. [00:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't. I don't understand it either. I mean, that's. Yeah. The. God. Wow. [00:21:54] Speaker A: Throw them in the pile of discarded men. I know Seth Rogen. I swear to God, if something comes [00:22:00] Speaker B: out about him, I don't think it will because he turned on his friend James Franco in two seconds. [00:22:05] Speaker A: Two seconds. But I'm saying, if he goes this far with being like, no, like, me and my wife are super happy. Oh, we don't want children. I thought you were talking. And then all of a sudden, he fucking gets with somebody who's 24 years old because she can have kids. You know, burn it down. [00:22:21] Speaker B: I don't think he is. He's more like a Sam. What's his. [00:22:25] Speaker A: Rockwell. [00:22:26] Speaker B: He's more like a Sam Rockwell. [00:22:27] Speaker A: I think he's coming out with a new film. [00:22:29] Speaker B: I will be in the theater. [00:22:32] Speaker A: It don't make sense. My crush for those men don't make no sense. [00:22:34] Speaker B: I know. Sam Rockwell. Oh, my God. [00:22:37] Speaker A: But, yeah, I mean, I didn't know the feelings that I was having when I was, like, 11, 12 years old and he wasn't doing. He was the villain in Charlie's Angels. But I felt a stirring. [00:22:45] Speaker B: I know [00:22:48] Speaker A: I felt a stirring. And to this day, I'm like, yeah, I know what it is. [00:22:50] Speaker B: I know. Yep, yep. I know. [00:22:53] Speaker A: I love man. [00:22:54] Speaker B: That is a man that's a short king. [00:22:56] Speaker A: A short king who has confidence. [00:22:58] Speaker B: Oh, my God, he's brimming with it. Yeah, yeah. You know, the other day, my mom was like, you know, I love Tom Holland. And I was like, exactly. I get it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:23:08] Speaker A: We love a young boy who's, like, confident. Well, you know, he's not a young boy. He's a grown man now. But as he was young, like, fully going into dance, for sure. [00:23:18] Speaker B: But she goes, do you know who he was? And I was like, who? And she goes, billy Elliot. I totally forgot about that. Absolutely love it. [00:23:25] Speaker A: Billy Elliott. He confident in his masculinity. [00:23:29] Speaker B: So confident. [00:23:30] Speaker A: Put these boys in the arts. Put them in the arts. [00:23:32] Speaker B: And you know what? It should be, like, signal to men everywhere that, like, if you are like that, then you can be with a woman like Zendaya. [00:23:42] Speaker A: Exactly. You know, they don't want to hear that, though. [00:23:44] Speaker B: No, no. [00:23:46] Speaker A: They're like, I'm an alpha male. [00:23:48] Speaker B: That? Yeah, you're five six. [00:23:53] Speaker A: You know what I said about Joe Rogan being five one? Never ethical. [00:23:57] Speaker B: Okay, wait. I can't believe he is five one. I can't believe he leaves his house. [00:24:02] Speaker A: Being that I think he's like, 5:3. You cannot tell me that man is, like, 5:8. I won't believe him. [00:24:08] Speaker B: I'm sure he wears something in his shoes, too. [00:24:11] Speaker A: Or maybe he got that surgery, like bone stretching. [00:24:16] Speaker B: So crazy. [00:24:17] Speaker A: Stupid. All right, all right. Well, glad we did a little. Hear ye, hear ye. And let our. Let our disdain for these men run. Run free. But as everyone knows, it's that time again. This week we're taking a little break from our reread to dive into some of our favorite theories as we get ready for the next two installments in Sarah J. Maas's A Court of Thorns and Rose series. Starting with A Court of Splintered harmony. Right. Coming October 7th, 27th. And then the next book is A Court of forgotten melody, coming January 12th of 2027. [00:24:53] Speaker B: That's exciting. We're breaking down the theories, the clues, the chaos, and all the things we think Sarah J. Maas has been quietly setting up for years. So whether you've read the series 10 times or have no clue what the hell is going on, there's something here for you and me and you. Okay, let's get into it. [00:25:14] Speaker A: All right, let me know. What's some theories you're hearing. [00:25:18] Speaker B: So, so many. [00:25:19] Speaker A: You did a bit of a deep dive. [00:25:21] Speaker B: I love the theories. I love the theories. Now there are, like, a couple theories, and then I have just some things. So first of all, people were not excited about the covers. [00:25:33] Speaker A: Okay, tell me. Tell me more. They didn't like what? [00:25:35] Speaker B: They didn't like it. They were like, it's giving Instagram circa 2010 or Canva without a subscription. [00:25:41] Speaker A: Right? Like, no, read me to filth. [00:25:44] Speaker B: I know, but the problem is that I guess, like, they don't match whatever the series. Like, the hardcover series that people are getting. They don't match that. So they're gonna have to buy more. They're gonna have to rebuy, like, the books, I don't know, in the. In the new cover. [00:26:03] Speaker A: Oh, hate that. [00:26:04] Speaker B: Yeah. So people are really upset. So if they. They won't match the gray hardcovers, I guess, which is for the other ones. [00:26:13] Speaker A: Okay, [00:26:15] Speaker B: so. So people are upset about that. People are also like, I. I think about the Valkyrie that, like the fact that, you know, which I didn't even realize when I first saw it that it was like, A Valkyrie cycle. Yeah. Like, so people are like, oh, I don't know. Because that basically is like, oh, it's going to be about probably Gwen and Emerie. [00:26:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:39] Speaker B: So big thing I'm seeing coming out is Emerie and Mor will be endgame. [00:26:43] Speaker A: Okay, so, okay, so theory one is Emerie and Mor. Okay. [00:26:48] Speaker B: Okay. [00:26:49] Speaker A: And your hope is for Azrael and [00:26:53] Speaker B: I mean my biggest hope. [00:26:54] Speaker A: And Eris, you just want Aeris all over this book. [00:26:56] Speaker B: You know? I do. [00:26:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I do. [00:26:58] Speaker B: I want him like just kind of standing in the corner eating and putting his hands in his pants in his back. [00:27:06] Speaker A: Okay. All right. [00:27:07] Speaker B: Well, that is a very specific, very like Brad Pitt. You know, I think I saw a [00:27:13] Speaker A: TikTok recently about somebody like making fun of Brad Pitt eating in all his movies. [00:27:18] Speaker B: Why would you make fun of that? [00:27:19] Speaker A: They're just like, it's something that he's got to be doing all the time. [00:27:22] Speaker B: Oh, for sure. Yes. So wait, let's see. So a lot of people say that Nesta and Rhys are going to be like at. At odds. Because they already are. I guess. I can't remember, you know, anything. [00:27:40] Speaker A: We should probably preface this guy. We're here. We don't have the fun and the vibes. We are not getting our PhD in what I like to call moss communication. [00:27:51] Speaker B: Okay. Seriously. And the names are going to be wrong. [00:27:53] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what it is. [00:27:54] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. So basically like, Reese is mad at Nesta because she gave that. The death mask mask to Bryce in the last. Remember? [00:28:05] Speaker A: Like, because Bryce needed it to go home. [00:28:07] Speaker B: I think so. Yeah. But she eventually brought it back, so I don't know what the problem was anyway. [00:28:13] Speaker A: What? [00:28:13] Speaker B: There's like a theory. [00:28:14] Speaker A: Not this layaway program for the mask. Yes, but that is a. That is a theory. I've seen too, that there's. And people. I. I've seen people being hungry for infighting within the end crowd. And they're like, for the love of God, please create tension within this group of people. Because like, for them to act like they're such a close, tight knit group [00:28:36] Speaker B: of people in like a family. [00:28:37] Speaker A: No family goes and deals with all these things that are going on in this world without fights and disagreements and whatever. So like, let's let them all go off and do their thing and then come back together for a common good. [00:28:49] Speaker B: For sure. For sure. And that's what people are saying is like, I think. I mean, I'm worried that the first book that comes out is gonna be like kind of a transitional book, like the Frost and Starlight. [00:29:00] Speaker A: Sure. [00:29:01] Speaker B: It's gonna. [00:29:02] Speaker A: Not a lot of pages. [00:29:03] Speaker B: Yeah. So I'm sort of thinking it's going to be one of those transition books. And then the next book and whenever the next book after that comes out is going to be more of, like, in Throne of Glass, when they kind of all separate, you know, they all go their different ways, and it's like a multiple, like, point of view. Okay, so that's what people think. What was another thing? So the Valkyrie. So they're like, okay, you know, is it not about Elaine? Is it about, like, Gwen and Azrael, Emry and Mor? And then poor Lucien? Like, I just need to know what's gonna happen. [00:29:44] Speaker A: I need to know what's gonna happen to him. I'm gonna be very upset if I don't know if it's in book six or seven or whenever it's gonna happen. Because there is an eighth one coming, right? [00:29:53] Speaker B: Yes. [00:29:53] Speaker A: Okay. [00:29:54] Speaker B: Yes. [00:29:54] Speaker A: Is it just three? Is it. It. Will it end with the eighth book? [00:29:57] Speaker B: I don't know. People are like, I don't know. Is she gonna, like, take this somewhere else then? I don't know. [00:30:02] Speaker A: All I know is, at the end of the day, not a hair on Lucian's head needs to be heard. I will be very upset if they end up, like, sacrificing him. And he never gets, like, a happy story. He never gets loved. He never gets accepted by his family. I mean, this man has been through hell. [00:30:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. I mean, his dad and his brother is awful. [00:30:23] Speaker A: He lost that woman that he loved. His eyes whirling. He nearly lost his life under the mountain because some girl, some human girl that he's been trying to help. [00:30:33] Speaker B: Oh, God. Couldn't read. [00:30:36] Speaker A: And then he gets out here and he's like. Even after everything's done, you know, said and done, he's trying to do the best he can, just, you know, trying to hold his best friend together. His best friend, who, by the way, whipped him under the mountain. Let that go. No. And this young girl who he really likes and sees a lot of promise with, but he can't make everybody happy, and then he ends up, like, just being kind of like this, like, leftover character. Isn't there one point where he just, like, joins a band of, like, you know, misfit? [00:31:04] Speaker B: Wait, what? [00:31:05] Speaker A: Remember, he, like, goes off and, like, he's with Jurian at some point. [00:31:09] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I forgot about that. Is that when he, like, goes and sees the dad, they're just like, the [00:31:14] Speaker A: island of Misfit toys. [00:31:17] Speaker B: You know, I love Jurian. [00:31:18] Speaker A: I know. It's pitiful. [00:31:22] Speaker B: Oh, no, I forgot about that. Eris kind of comes in and is like, what are you doing? Yeah. [00:31:28] Speaker A: I'm like, it's your brother. [00:31:29] Speaker B: I know. I know. Well, there are people that think that there's a theory that, like, Eris and Lucien will kind of team up and kind of go, like, try to overthrow their dad. [00:31:39] Speaker A: I hope so. [00:31:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:31:40] Speaker A: Okay. I hope so. I like that theory. I don't. I really would like for whatever this bond situation is between Lucien and Elain to disappear. I don't want any part of this. [00:31:52] Speaker B: I don't. I don't think so either. I mean, yeah, Lucian deserves more. Yeah. But there. Okay, so there's a bunch of theories about Elaine. That she's, like, a seer. [00:32:02] Speaker A: Yes. [00:32:02] Speaker B: And that she, like, can see between worlds now. Let me just say this. The whole crossover situation, I'm done with. Right. Like, I was done with that in 2015 with Chicago PD and Chicago Fire. [00:32:16] Speaker A: You're like, get off the set. [00:32:17] Speaker B: Seriously. So. Yeah. I mean, so who knows if they're gonna bring in the Crescent City or Throne of Glass. But yeah, I'm just. I'm excited to see. [00:32:33] Speaker A: And so what are they saying with her being a seer? [00:32:35] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Sorry. [00:32:39] Speaker A: Whoa. Didn't see that. [00:32:43] Speaker B: Totally gone. That was just totally gone. [00:32:46] Speaker A: I was like, girl, I'm following. I am following. [00:32:50] Speaker B: So that she is, like, she's maybe gonna betray them. And I don't know that she's seen something happen that she maybe she maybe teams up with. What's his face? Coach Koshe. [00:33:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:33:07] Speaker B: That she, like, teams up with him. [00:33:10] Speaker A: I'm also. See. I saw a similar theory today where somebody says that they think she's possessed. [00:33:16] Speaker B: Oh. [00:33:16] Speaker A: And that, like, she's actually, like, one of these evil entities. I don't know if it's Kashe or somebody else and, like, is, like. Is possessing her because people are saying her behavior was off in the last book. [00:33:27] Speaker B: Oh, so it's like a Harry Potter, the situation with the professor that was possessed. [00:33:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:33:33] Speaker B: Okay. [00:33:34] Speaker A: I'm also seeing theories about. Obviously, I would love to see it. Gwen and Azriel, basically, her being a light singer and him being a shadow singer. Okay, give me more of that. [00:33:46] Speaker B: Yeah, give me more of that. Although, you know. You know, we've loved Azreal, so, like, the mystery is. Is great. [00:33:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:33:54] Speaker B: But rereading that. Was it the second. Yeah, the second book, it was kind of like. I don't know. He, like, He's. He scares me a little bit. [00:34:02] Speaker A: He does scare me too. I'm a little bit like, speak up or get the hell out. What's going on? [00:34:07] Speaker B: And that boy a trapter. Like, I just, I'll never get over that. That the bonus chapter. [00:34:13] Speaker A: No. [00:34:13] Speaker B: Yeah. No. [00:34:14] Speaker A: Re. Gifting that damn necklace. That was crazy as hell. [00:34:17] Speaker B: Can't do it. [00:34:18] Speaker A: Yeah, like, that needs to be addressed. [00:34:21] Speaker B: Did he. Okay, so he tried to give it to Elaine. Elaine said no. [00:34:24] Speaker A: Right. [00:34:24] Speaker B: And then he gave it to. [00:34:26] Speaker A: Gave it to Elaine. He gave it to Elaine. And as he gave it to Elaine, I can't remember if they like fully kissed or not, but it was like somewhat of a romantic moment. Rhysand sees it at the top of the stairs and he's like, are you are out of your mind? Yeah, yeah, basically, you know, kind of being like, she's bought, you know, she's bonded to somebody else. Blah, blah, what are you doing? Which honestly I didn't like that energy [00:34:47] Speaker B: either because I'm a little bit like, yeah, she owned. [00:34:51] Speaker A: I don't like that. And I'm also like the energy of like for in the beginning books of the brotherhood between the three, it felt very much like boys who have a tight bond. They've been through some together, but they like, you know, they all respect each other's like, sovereignty. They all know the role. Role that they play and like the things that they're trying to accomplish. By the time we get here to these books and like that bonus chapter, it feels very much that like Rhysand keeps them on a tight leash. [00:35:18] Speaker B: He does. [00:35:19] Speaker A: And I don't like that. [00:35:20] Speaker B: Yeah, the, like the hierarchy has been sharp. [00:35:22] Speaker A: Yes. [00:35:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:35:23] Speaker A: And I don't like that. So it was giving that energy in the bonus chapter. And so anyway, when Azriel like leaves that like, you know, getting reprimanded by his boss, I guess for his. What's supposed to be his best friend, he goes back into the living room of the townhouse and what's laying there is the necklace. Like, Elaine had like, laid it back down. So Asriel, like picks that necklace back up and like the boy that he is takes flight in the middle of the night and at like 2:30 in the morning. Absolutely. Since Gwen. A U up text. [00:35:58] Speaker B: No. [00:35:59] Speaker A: Flies his happy ass over there, dusty as hell. [00:36:03] Speaker B: God. [00:36:03] Speaker A: And gives her the necklace. [00:36:06] Speaker B: No. [00:36:06] Speaker A: Merry Christmas. [00:36:07] Speaker B: She has no clue. [00:36:08] Speaker A: No. [00:36:09] Speaker B: I hope Elaine takes her aside and [00:36:10] Speaker A: is like woman to woman. [00:36:12] Speaker B: Let me just tell you, girl, I'm [00:36:15] Speaker A: coming to you as a woman. That necklace that you're Wearing. No, it's not gonna work. [00:36:21] Speaker B: He might have liked your picture on Instagram, but he liked mine first. [00:36:24] Speaker A: Right? He's coming home to me. [00:36:25] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Yeah, No, I definitely am not into the boy. I mean, she. Yeah, that better. She better have an explanation for that because I really don't like that. But let's see. So. Yeah, the. The shadow singer. The shadow. Whatever. Oh, so speaking of, we were talking about how like the three of them, like Cassian, Rhysand and Azrael, like, were boys and whatever. So there was somebody on the Instagram that was. Or Reddit that was like, they feel like the Valkyrie plotline was like just really shoehorned into this last. You know, it was just like, oh, let's, you know, bring in a bunch of, you know, a team of women. And it really like, it feels like in an attempt to kind of rectify like how misogynistic and awful she made the Illyrians and some of the Fae and kind of even the like. Yeah, so. So the whole like, trope of like, when you're bonded. [00:37:30] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:37:31] Speaker B: You get like violent with other men around her. If she even like. Do you feel like she even like, that's gross. [00:37:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:37:38] Speaker B: You know, it might have been like, okay 10 years ago. Right. But like, not okay now. [00:37:43] Speaker A: No, it's weird now. [00:37:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. So I think maybe she's taking this to the Valkyries and being like, like, like you were saying, like kind of a women in like empowerment thing. [00:37:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:37:54] Speaker B: Yeah. Taking back like, okay, you can make the choice for the. For the bond or not or whatever. [00:38:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:02] Speaker A: I'm seeing a lot of talk about Cassian and Nesta not being in game. And I gotta say, I like that. I like it. Those two separate. [00:38:13] Speaker B: You know what, though? I don't really like either of them. [00:38:15] Speaker A: I know you don't like either of them, but I'm like if somebody's got to be sacrificed. [00:38:19] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. Seriously. I know. I just. I'm sorry. Like the. The like the like big dumb animal energy. I can't do. I can't do. [00:38:34] Speaker A: Poor thing. I mean, he was really trying to find his like his strategic muscle in the last book. [00:38:39] Speaker B: I know. No, I know. Yeah. And he just also is like very like, obviously, like just she kind of like bosses him around. Right. Because he's just kind of like he needs to find someone that loves. [00:38:51] Speaker A: Yeah. But they're saying that maybe okay with the. With this breakup that might go down. I don't know where Amren is in all of this. Yeah. [00:39:00] Speaker B: But I hope she's well. Jesus, I don't know where she is. [00:39:04] Speaker A: She living with her man from the. [00:39:05] Speaker B: Oh, yes, from the Summer Court. [00:39:07] Speaker A: They're in the Caribbean. She's like, I don't know. There is conversation about. Okay. Calling on everything that goes on in the third book of the Crescent City series when we're in deep in the crossover episode and Bryce has Nesta and Azrael deep under what feels like multiple mountains. It's like the sister peaks of Remiel under the mountain. Oh, the dust mountain and the prison. So then they're thinking that there is going to be obviously the dust. Dust core thing and Nesta might be the one to take after. [00:39:47] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, there were theories that, like, then she gets in a fight with Rhys and then Cassie follows her and then they go to the desk. [00:39:56] Speaker A: Yes. [00:39:57] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. I don't know. [00:39:59] Speaker A: I. [00:40:00] Speaker B: And then there are also theories about, like, is this next book still Nesta? And I'm like, I don't like that. [00:40:05] Speaker A: I don't need it. [00:40:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:40:08] Speaker A: There's also. I told you. I mean, that girl today that I was watching. [00:40:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:40:14] Speaker A: She like, did this whole, like, genealogy, like, family situation, and she like, threaded the needle for how Bryce and Rhysand are related. [00:40:24] Speaker B: Oh. [00:40:25] Speaker A: So there's probably gonna be a little bit of a story there. [00:40:28] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. [00:40:29] Speaker A: Wow. [00:40:32] Speaker B: There was also. I. I mean, I saw this and I was like, what the fuck? It was like, is Lucien Gwen's father or is hes her grandfather? [00:40:42] Speaker A: What? [00:40:42] Speaker B: I'm like, wait, is that just because of the red hair? Like, it doesn't make sense. [00:40:46] Speaker A: Don't piss me off. [00:40:47] Speaker B: And the grandfather. What is that? But there is like, that Lucian, like, keep it clean. Keep it clean. I know. Keep it clean. Seriously, they. But Lucian. Did we find out that Lucian's father is not barren? [00:41:02] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:41:03] Speaker B: Okay. That Italian, right? [00:41:04] Speaker A: I think so. Well, right. Don't we have our. We have our doubts because it's like [00:41:09] Speaker B: his skin is not the same color [00:41:10] Speaker A: as it's giving white man a color. [00:41:12] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Seriously. [00:41:17] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I'd love to see that. [00:41:20] Speaker B: I know. Yeah. I mean, I. And so they. They're kind of like, you know, first of all, it's like, what is the high lady of the Autumn Court doing? Yeah, yeah. But justice for her. Because, I mean, like, it sounds like Baron was just like, abusive. [00:41:37] Speaker A: Yes, yes. [00:41:41] Speaker B: So the other thing, I was looking through these and I just would see these names and I'd be like, who the hell is Vasa? [00:41:49] Speaker A: What the fuck? [00:41:50] Speaker B: That's Me, I'm like, the Demati. [00:41:52] Speaker A: And like, I sound like, sorry, blessings to them. I don't know who they are. [00:41:57] Speaker B: Daglin. I was like, what the fuck is that? [00:42:00] Speaker A: The it boy from Crescent City. [00:42:02] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Oh, my God, I love him. What was. [00:42:05] Speaker A: No, that was Declan. [00:42:06] Speaker B: Declan. [00:42:06] Speaker A: Okay. [00:42:08] Speaker B: Yeah. But I. So I have no idea who any of these people are. [00:42:12] Speaker A: I think people do think that we're. We might see what's our. What's our girl's name from the Throne of Glass series? The witch. [00:42:22] Speaker B: Manon. [00:42:23] Speaker A: Manon. But people are also thinking that what are the two bands of witches? Witches. The kroken. [00:42:28] Speaker B: The kroken and the. [00:42:31] Speaker A: Anyway, I saw that more might be the. [00:42:34] Speaker B: Oh, half witch or something. [00:42:35] Speaker A: Yeah. Or the last remaining, like, witch of. Whichever that is. [00:42:39] Speaker B: Yeah, I would like that. [00:42:40] Speaker A: Me too. I would love that. [00:42:42] Speaker B: Or that Nesta is half witch. Some people were saying we need to. [00:42:45] Speaker A: We need to dig into the 23andMe results of their mother because something's not making sense. [00:42:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:42:51] Speaker A: Mind you, all of this happened because Pharaoh is out there just hunting for rabbit. [00:42:59] Speaker B: See what can happen all of a sudden. Oh, yep, they're all fairies. [00:43:02] Speaker A: Now she has a baby with wings. [00:43:04] Speaker B: Jesus Christ. [00:43:05] Speaker A: You never know how life's going to change. [00:43:07] Speaker B: Jesus Christ. Yeah, there's a lot of, like, I can't deal with the pregnancy storyline. Somebody was like, I do not want to see mommy. Like, Feyre and her mommy era. And because that's not romantic, add me in there, too. [00:43:19] Speaker A: If the minute I see somebody pushing a stroller or teaching somebody the walk or fly, I'm out of there, mister. I'm out of there. Excuse me. I use these books as an escape. [00:43:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:31] Speaker A: If I wanted to do that, I'd have done it my damn self. [00:43:34] Speaker B: Huh? You go outside and you can see the daycares from there. [00:43:37] Speaker A: I mean, I've got three. Three on my street. We're good. [00:43:40] Speaker B: Look out the window. [00:43:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Love it. [00:43:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. [00:43:43] Speaker A: I cannot. [00:43:45] Speaker B: I know. No, that's like, really in any of these. Like, Twilight did it, like, they all do it where it's like them. Okay. Then they get married and then they have. They have babies and it's like, it just gets boring then. [00:43:58] Speaker A: Gets so boring. I was reading, if you wouldn't mind there. This is a Reddit post. And I was dying laughing because this goes to your point about, like, not knowing who the these people are and you're about to die laughing. Now. This was posted probably about four or five months ago, and this person just, you know, started a Reddit thread about their theories for Acatar 6 and 7. So I said, well, this might be a good place to kind of start. Right. So they're coming at this without before ever knowing the titles, the books, or any sort of thing like that. Okay. When I read this, I'm so excited. Okay. This is from a poster called Lady Death of Dusk. Okay. Love that name. [00:44:40] Speaker B: Yep. [00:44:41] Speaker A: Okay. This is on Reddit. She says, personally, I think the upcoming books are going to be Gwen Real Nessian, considering as and Nesta were the key players in the crossover. Right. So in the crossover episodes of Crescent City. [00:44:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:44:57] Speaker A: Right. The three major places to be explained in the upcoming books, which A Court of silver flames and HOFAs for Crescent City. I can't. I don't even know what that acronym is. [00:45:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:45:09] Speaker A: Set the stage for Are the sister peaks of Ramil, the Prison, and under the Mountain. [00:45:15] Speaker B: Okay. [00:45:15] Speaker A: As I definitely think is a descendant of an alias. [00:45:19] Speaker B: What the what? [00:45:23] Speaker A: And we'll obviously be getting the Illyria Ramil truth teller plot line. As hates the Illyrians. [00:45:29] Speaker B: Who is this Azrael? [00:45:30] Speaker A: Yes. [00:45:30] Speaker B: We're talking about. [00:45:31] Speaker A: Yeah, as. As hates the Illyrians. So him learning that even though they were created by the Asteri, they still chose to hide the cauldron in Ramil and fight against the Asteri will be a pretty big deal to him. What? [00:45:45] Speaker B: What the. I have no idea what you just said. Was that English? Geez. Oh, my God. [00:45:50] Speaker A: We'll get a lot of bat boy Valkyrie action in Illyria in the upcoming books. Nesta, I believe, will be key in the Illyria plot because one, she's the only relevant major character who has never touched the stone atop her meal. Two, she has a parallel scene with an Analia, both holding the line against their enemies at the pass of an alias. I guess that's when she was up on that mountain fighting. [00:46:11] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Like training or when she was like. Oh, she was, like, up. I don't know. [00:46:17] Speaker A: Remember when she and the three girls were doing. Yeah, they were doing the Iron man, the time. [00:46:21] Speaker B: Yeah. Traveling. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:46:24] Speaker A: And three, Nessa felt warmth and breath coming from the past, which makes me believe she either accidentally made it come alive when she fell into it, or it's a portal to other worlds. I. I have no idea what's going on there. [00:46:36] Speaker B: What? [00:46:36] Speaker A: Ne Nesta, I definitely think is either a descendant of Queen Theia. Thea. [00:46:41] Speaker B: Who's that? [00:46:43] Speaker A: What the. I hope I don't sound ridiculous. Queen Thea. Or she was made Starborn by the Mother and will obviously be getting the Dust Court slash. The prison slash. Gwydian plotline. Nesta is the only Acotar character to be associated with the Starborn and the Dusk Court in both. A Court of Silver Flames and What H O F A s. Whatever that acronym is again. [00:47:08] Speaker B: Flaming Shadow. [00:47:09] Speaker A: Thank you. God bless God, yes. [00:47:10] Speaker B: I can't believe I remember that. [00:47:12] Speaker A: Wonderful, wonderful recall skills. She's killed both. Hold on. I'm getting these notifications. She's killed both Lanthus and Vesperus again. Who is that? [00:47:25] Speaker B: I have. No, no. You know who I would love to be a crossover though? [00:47:29] Speaker A: Who? [00:47:29] Speaker B: You know, a couple I loved in Crescent City is the brother. And do you remember the brother? What was his name? Who like Ronan. [00:47:41] Speaker A: They were trying to save the whole time? [00:47:43] Speaker B: No, no, no. [00:47:44] Speaker A: The. [00:47:44] Speaker B: Bryce's brother or half brother or whatever his name is something. But he was with that queen and they like, had had dream sex. [00:47:55] Speaker A: Oh, you're talking about. [00:47:56] Speaker B: Yes, yes. [00:47:57] Speaker A: Whatever his name is. He's like emo. [00:47:59] Speaker B: He's emo. Yeah. [00:47:59] Speaker A: He's got the, like the tongue piercing. [00:48:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Yes, yes, yes. And then the. The queen who. Yeah. [00:48:05] Speaker A: See, I'm interested to understand if there's any connection between that whole situation, those folks like the Brother and whatever, and Lucian. [00:48:14] Speaker B: Because the Autumn Court. Yeah. Yeah. So I. I think there are people that are like. Which is why it's like. Why wouldn't Bryce just be related to Lucian? Not that all redheaded people. [00:48:25] Speaker A: Although, I mean, I think you are. [00:48:31] Speaker B: Let's be honest. [00:48:32] Speaker A: Yes. Okay. I guess Nessus killed both Lanthus and Vesperus. News to me. The rest of the prison inmates already fear her in Ataraxia. That's the. That's the sword, right? Anaraxia. [00:48:44] Speaker B: I have no clue. [00:48:45] Speaker A: In the upcoming books, Nesta will need to finish clearing out the prison. Did not know that we had a prison break. Releasing a magic. Releasing the magic the Asteri left behind. See, I'm like, lost because I know in the crossover episode, the Asterias, Crescent City. [00:49:02] Speaker B: Right. [00:49:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:49:03] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, go ahead. [00:49:04] Speaker A: But I don't remember them like, coming into the Prythian world in Crescent City, did they? [00:49:10] Speaker B: Yeah, so Bryce did. Bryce landed there and then went with Nesta and Azrael on like a journey. [00:49:18] Speaker A: That's right. [00:49:18] Speaker B: Yeah. So they like went and saw these like, drawings and then. [00:49:22] Speaker A: Right, right. [00:49:23] Speaker B: And then they basically got like an info dump. Like a. By Sel. [00:49:27] Speaker A: Yes. [00:49:27] Speaker B: Whoever that is. Yeah. So that was like. And she told this whole story, which I don't remember at All. I don't remember. I have no part in it. [00:49:37] Speaker A: And then when does it happen? Are they around? Where are they? Whenever. Okay. They give Bryce, what, the mask, and then she goes back into her world, and then that's where she goes and fights the angels. The Starry. Right. [00:49:49] Speaker B: Yes. Yes. [00:49:50] Speaker A: She uses that mask to end them. [00:49:51] Speaker B: I think so. Yes. I think so. [00:49:53] Speaker A: So help us. [00:49:55] Speaker B: I have no idea. But you know what? I just don't want to see Hunt. That's all. That's all. Neither. Yeah. [00:50:00] Speaker A: You know, people are wanting to, like, they're fan casting Belmont as him. [00:50:05] Speaker B: I don't like it. [00:50:05] Speaker A: I hate it. [00:50:06] Speaker B: I don't like it. [00:50:07] Speaker A: I'm like, don't do that to him. [00:50:08] Speaker B: He could be Zayan for sure. [00:50:10] Speaker A: No, seriously. Yeah, I see it. But don't do Hunt. [00:50:15] Speaker B: No. God, I hate Hunt. [00:50:19] Speaker A: No. Yeah. He's got enough, like, thickness to him that I'm like, it feels good for Zaden. Or. [00:50:25] Speaker B: Done. [00:50:25] Speaker A: Yeah. Let's see. Nesta will need to finish clearing out the prison, releasing the magic the aer left behind, and reawakening the dust. Cor, I do really like that story. [00:50:34] Speaker B: I do, too. I do, too. [00:50:35] Speaker A: Aside from that, there's so many unanswered questions about Nessa's powers, her bloodline, the Dread Trove, her connection with the Mother, her ability to make and unmake things, her connection with the cauldron, the possibility of her world walking, her being a worthy opponent to Rhysand. And there's even. That is interesting because people keep saying that she's super powerful and, like, one Nessa. [00:50:56] Speaker B: Yeah. That she's, like, the most powerful. [00:50:57] Speaker A: Yeah. Which coupled against Rhysand. [00:51:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I know, I know. Oh, there will be. There will be blood. [00:51:04] Speaker A: Love that. And there's even more questions after A House of Flame and Shadow, Nesta befriended, saved, and made an alliance with a whole other world. So she's definitely not going to be demoted to a side character anytime soon. And as much as they hate each other, we're definitely gearing up for a Nesta Reese team up. Like Aylin Dorian and Bryce Reese. Rune. [00:51:22] Speaker B: Oh, Rune. Rune is the. [00:51:24] Speaker A: Rune's the brother's name. Gwen, I definitely think is a descendant of Oleana. God bless his sir. And I think we'll be getting the middle under the Mountain plot line. Gwen has been mentioned glowing twice in canon, and both times were while she was singing. It's highly likely that she's a light singer. Not an evil light singer, mind you, but a misunderstood being. Also shadow singer and light singer. Being mated makes perfect sense. If Gwen is a light singer, then. Then. Then that kind of sort of ties her to the middle and the sister peak there under the mountain. [00:51:54] Speaker B: What the. [00:51:55] Speaker A: Okay, so wait a minute. So wait, so is. Okay, so is Nesta then going to be. Where's she gonna be? [00:52:03] Speaker B: I guess. I think, like, it seems like under the prison. Yeah, it's like Rhysand is like head of the. Whatever inner circle, those three boys. And Nesta is like, no, I'm head of the girl. Girls. [00:52:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm over here. [00:52:15] Speaker B: You know what I mean? [00:52:16] Speaker A: So then Gwen will have. Under the mountain. Okay, hold on. Okay. Okay. Gwen is light singer, so that kind of sort of ties her in the middle and the sister peak there under the mountain. The High Lords may have been enslaved there for 50 years, but we know from House of Flame and Shadow that there's untouched magic there from when the Asteri ruled. So obviously they didn't explore every aspect of the sacred mountain while enslaved. That will be for Gwen to explore in the upcoming book. Books. Cassian doesn't necessarily fit into any of these plot points on his own, but it was his starborn bargain tattoo intertwined with his Illyrian tattoos. Jesus. [00:52:52] Speaker B: Jesus Christ. [00:52:53] Speaker A: That foreshadowed the connection between the Dust Court and Illyria, which we saw cemented in House of Flame and Shadow with Nesta and as. Personally, I think Cassian needs to be given the largest redemption arc known to mankind. And he needs to become the grovel king. [00:53:07] Speaker B: What? [00:53:08] Speaker A: Great. [00:53:09] Speaker B: The Gravel King. [00:53:11] Speaker A: The only way I'll even forgive him for his conflicting loyalty between Nesta and Rhysand is if he challenges he sand sticks up and protects Nesta and then leaves the inner circle in the night court to be Nesta's warrior prince, Consort of Dust. Best I can do. Okay. All right. [00:53:27] Speaker B: I don't mind that. I don't mind Cassian being the consort. [00:53:30] Speaker A: I can see. And you know what? I think he would serve in a consort role. [00:53:33] Speaker B: Oh, he would. He for sure would. [00:53:35] Speaker A: This girl. Minute Strawberry 591 said. I just don't want Nessa and Cassie to be in game. I feel like there's more for her, you know, Legitimize and. And want better for your girlfriend. [00:53:48] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:53:49] Speaker A: And this person. Valuable Housing529 says all I want most for future books is to get out of this awful night court. I can't take it anymore. I want to explore the other courts. Enough with the Inner Circle. Spread them all across the map. I agree. [00:54:02] Speaker B: We need. We need some comps over There. Like, what are the houses looking like in the other court? [00:54:07] Speaker A: What's going on? [00:54:09] Speaker B: Seriously? We can't. We can't afford anything. [00:54:10] Speaker A: People are thriving in other courts. [00:54:12] Speaker B: The summer court is, like, thriving. [00:54:15] Speaker A: It's. It is giving. The Atlantis Resort for sure. It's giving. Stop over here. Yes, absolutely. Let's go see the Dolphin show at 3pm Love it. You could pet stingray race. [00:54:30] Speaker B: Seriously? Yeah. Just stay out in the sun all day and then get some dinner, eat some fish, and go to sleep. [00:54:37] Speaker A: It's fresh. [00:54:37] Speaker B: That's the greatest thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:54:40] Speaker A: I would not want to be in the winter court. [00:54:42] Speaker B: No winter court. I like the autumn court, but it seems really kind of abusive. [00:54:46] Speaker A: Always snowing all the time. [00:54:48] Speaker B: Oh, on the winter court. Yeah. No, no. Yeah. I don't think I would mind. I mean, the summer court sounds great, but I would be under. Under an umbrella. The entire. [00:54:57] Speaker A: The dawn court sounds nice. [00:54:59] Speaker B: Down court. Yeah, dawn court sounds nice. I mean, we got to check it out. We got to. We got to travel a little bit. [00:55:06] Speaker A: Get your passport. [00:55:07] Speaker B: Seriously, like, I don't want to just be stuck in the night court. [00:55:10] Speaker A: No, I'm. I. I. Thank you so much. I'm good. Somebody said that. That I was reading said that Valeris is cosplaying. Is Brooklyn, [00:55:24] Speaker B: First of all. No. [00:55:26] Speaker A: Died laughing. Died laughing. I was like. They were like, you got all your hipster spots, the best coffee shops, pizza, whatever. It's just brimming with all this new energy. And I was like, you know what? I will hear the argument. [00:55:37] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Yeah, but that means the influencers are coming. [00:55:41] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:55:42] Speaker B: God. Oh, my God. That's funny. [00:55:46] Speaker A: Yeah, it's definitely gonna be Feyre with her mom talk situation that she's got going on. [00:55:51] Speaker B: God, [00:55:54] Speaker A: I hate that somebody talks about emory here. [00:55:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:59] Speaker A: Isabath2435 says. I always saw Emery as the start to the changes recent Cass are trying to make in Illyria. She's a business owner, a trained warrior. [00:56:08] Speaker B: She loves the kids and the heart of a fighter. I'm a survivor. [00:56:20] Speaker A: It's absolutely Emery. She's a business owner, a trained warrior, and the first Illyrian woman to ever compete in the blood. Right? And first Illyrian to win the blood rite rights since the bat boys. You can imagine my surprise whenever I see theories about the Illyrian plot moving forward, and yet none of them mention her. But mention Gwen or Nesta. Yeah, yeah, more for her. [00:56:44] Speaker B: Yeah. No, seriously, she. She. They need to, like, make her a more robust character. Like, she so far, she's been like, like, you know the girl who's. Who inherited the. The bodega from her dad. [00:57:01] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:57:02] Speaker B: Selling her wares. [00:57:05] Speaker A: Somebody was like, oh, Is it bad? 2, 4, 3, 5. Says Nesta being key in Thean plot line feels extremely white savior y. Especially when you have Emry right there, who's the first Ilyan woman to train and compete and win the blood. Right. Thus paving the way for Illyrian women to take advantage of the changes that Rhys and co are trying to make for the team. Team for them. Theorizing about the Illyrian plot line and then mentioning Gwen, but not a word about Nessa's Illyrian best friend. Seems a little wild to me. But hey, not my theory. [00:57:31] Speaker B: You know what I need to know about the race relations in this. In this world. I mean, we do. [00:57:37] Speaker A: We do. Seriously, we do. Because I'm gonna tell you, I don't like how they treated my folks at the summer court. I know it gave real coming in here, your up and leaving and also colonialism also. Yeah. Isn't that there, like, some bad blood that Reese is still trying to, like, work through? Because Cassian got in there and just broke a bunch of buildings up. Like, didn't he go into the summer court and like, isn't that where some bad blood? Is that like. [00:58:03] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, he can't go back there. [00:58:05] Speaker A: Something. [00:58:05] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wait, no. You know what? Cuz Nessa went in there and stole something. Do you remember that? It was like they went into the summer court. Or was that. [00:58:14] Speaker A: It was Feyre. She stole the other part of that book or whatever that they had there. [00:58:18] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:58:19] Speaker A: It all started with not y' all coming into these. No neighborhoods. [00:58:23] Speaker B: No, no. [00:58:23] Speaker A: And up. [00:58:24] Speaker B: No. Absolutely not. Yeah, yeah. [00:58:28] Speaker A: We need to explore race relations. We do. In these books, somebody says skinny xxy says. The fact that people genuinely think when who still can't even leave the library is going to somehow save Illyria is wild to me. [00:58:40] Speaker B: Sure. [00:58:41] Speaker A: This girl is supposedly going to start singing. Suddenly centuries of brutal, misogynistic warriors are going to respect women, or Nessa is going to point at them and they'll all fall to their knees terrified. [00:58:51] Speaker B: Interesting. [00:58:53] Speaker A: Neither of these girls is realistically going to drive the Illyria plot. We already have characters who are actual victims of that system, like Emery, Cassian, or Asriel. I mean, he wants to nuke them whose lives were shaped by Illyrian brutality and traditions. It would make far more narrative sense for the story to center people directly tied to that culture and oppression instead of suddenly making Nesta or Gwen the saviors of Illyria. [00:59:13] Speaker B: You know, it's giving, like, elevating AOC In a time of fascism. I don't know if it's gonna work. [00:59:23] Speaker A: They're making a hell of a go of it, though. [00:59:26] Speaker B: Seriously. I don't know. I don't think it's gonna work. [00:59:28] Speaker A: Jesus. Yeah. I. I don't love. Yeah. I get people's criticism. Muluid H M O L U A I D H says that's because only Gwen matters. Because she has to be made relevant so she can end up with Asriel. Never mind that Emory had to carry her up the mountain. Never mind the plot between Emory and Moore or the Illyrians and how they treat their women. [00:59:51] Speaker B: I mean, when is a kind of sad. Like, she's got a sad story. [00:59:56] Speaker A: Yes. Yes, she does. She has a really sad story. [00:59:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:59:59] Speaker A: But I am a little bit like. Yeah. Justice for Emory. [01:00:01] Speaker B: She too. [01:00:01] Speaker A: Her own spotlight, too. [01:00:03] Speaker B: Yeah. I didn't real. I didn't. I forgot she was an Illyrian. She was Illyrian. [01:00:07] Speaker A: Yeah. And her. Her wings are clipped, right? Oh, yeah. And she's been abused. [01:00:13] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [01:00:15] Speaker A: Yeah, that's right. Rough. That's sad. [01:00:17] Speaker B: Oh, I hate it. [01:00:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:00:19] Speaker B: Right. Because that was what his. His Rhysand's mom was saved from for the clipping of the wings. Oh, I don't like that at all. [01:00:30] Speaker A: G. Cooper. [01:00:30] Speaker B: Either choice. [01:00:32] Speaker A: Right. Right. G. Cooper. E's theory is Nesta has definitely been set up for Dusk. SJM essentially used Bryce to spell it out for us. My theories are that either the mother decided to begin a new line of rulers with Nesta. The mother obviously has plans for her, or Nesta' father isn't really her father, and she has a starborn heritage, which would explain why she was singled out by her mother and neglected by her father. It might be the cause of her being able to risk resist Tamlin's glamour and have the ability to steal from the cauldron. [01:01:02] Speaker B: Oh, interesting. [01:01:04] Speaker A: Not the baddest in the room. [01:01:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:01:06] Speaker A: Being the most powerful. This is a lesson to everybody. Just be. Just be a little bit more mean. [01:01:10] Speaker B: Just be a little bit more. A little bit more nasty. [01:01:14] Speaker A: And you're gonna get everything. [01:01:15] Speaker B: Everything. Put on that pantsuit. Pantsuit. And you got. [01:01:19] Speaker A: Didn't work for Hillary Clinton, but Kamala Harris either, unfortunately. We're trying. [01:01:24] Speaker B: Too soon. [01:01:25] Speaker A: We're trying. Yeah. I won't go through all of these, but there are some interesting theories. [01:01:32] Speaker B: You know, One of the things is, like, we don't know the whole story with. I'm gonna bring it back. Eris and Asriel Eris and more. We don't know the whole story. [01:01:43] Speaker A: Yeah, we don't. [01:01:45] Speaker B: I mean, basically it was like he. He left her. Oh. She was dropped off by her family and, like, just abused and. Yeah. They, like, stabbed her in her stomach. [01:01:57] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:01:58] Speaker B: And so people are like, I don't know, was she pregnant? Was she, like. And then basically, I think Eris left her there. But the reason he left her is because, like, if he touched her, she would have to be part of the autumn court. And so he purposely didn' touch her because he didn't want her to go from one abusive court to the next. So I wonder if there's like, a whole thing. I think because she talked like, Sarah J. Moss talked a lot about how, like, bonds and, you know, can there just be like, another type of bond? Can they, like, be. I don't know. Can it be a lavender marrying you? [01:02:40] Speaker A: Anything's possible. [01:02:41] Speaker B: I mean, minus not. [01:02:43] Speaker A: I mean, you look at my relationship with Mikey, I mean, anything's possible. [01:02:49] Speaker B: You're two steps away from walking down the aisle. [01:02:51] Speaker A: No, absolutely. I was thinking today, I'm like, his. His family, you know, his sister just moved to North Carolina. I think he said that his mom was like, you're just going to have to live in North Carolina, too. I said, well, we're both going to be down there. [01:03:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:03] Speaker A: Living together in our lavender marriage. Just making it work. Hope you're well. See here. [01:03:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:12] Speaker A: What are people saying [01:03:15] Speaker B: about Erison? [01:03:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Erison Moore. [01:03:19] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, I. I think. Or there's one where, like, Moris knows that about Mor. And. But, like, still is like, pining after her. But like, there seems like there's a lot of pining after more when it's like, you know what? You guys. You guys know what's going on, so. [01:03:44] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. What's going on with them? [01:03:48] Speaker B: Like, Azrael was in love with more. [01:03:50] Speaker A: Yeah. And she's not letting him down gently. What's going on with that? [01:03:54] Speaker B: I know. [01:03:55] Speaker A: I need that to be put to bed. [01:03:57] Speaker B: I know. Well, you know what they said? That needs to come around. I can't remember because of course it was a. It was a pregnancy trope and I was, like, annoyed with. With it. But there was something about. I forgot that people didn't tell Feyre that she might die during childbirth. [01:04:14] Speaker A: Now that's crazy as hell. [01:04:16] Speaker B: That because of the wings. And only Nesta told her yes. Nobody told her. And I was like, we need to talk about that. That was very. Yeah. Very not okay. Yeah, yeah. [01:04:28] Speaker A: No, they should have told her. It's crazy. The man that she procreated with with should have been like, hey, yeah. [01:04:35] Speaker B: When Nessa comes in and is like, I'm gonna tell you the truth. And also I'm gonna save you. So you know what? Nesta is okay. [01:04:42] Speaker A: Justice for Nesta. Justice. [01:04:44] Speaker B: Vanessa. I mean, she is nasty. [01:04:46] Speaker A: That thing is nasty as hell. I'd have to be like, sister, you're gonna have to calm that attitude down and get your point across. But I. Let's chill it back. [01:04:54] Speaker B: She's there when you need it. [01:04:55] Speaker A: She is. [01:04:56] Speaker B: No, she tried to save Feyre like in the book one. So she's. Yeah, she's the. The got an attitude. [01:05:03] Speaker A: But she reread these books back for. With her in mind. [01:05:06] Speaker B: Yes, yes, yes. [01:05:07] Speaker A: And just be like, you know what, girl? I'm trying to see you from another angle. [01:05:12] Speaker B: Doing my best. [01:05:12] Speaker A: Yes, you would like this. This is from about a year ago. People talking about Eris. Right. And his use sour in Nasty said, yeah, I have a feeling Aries might have known she wasn't straight. We're talking about more. [01:05:25] Speaker B: Right. [01:05:25] Speaker A: Or known that no one would want to marry into the Autumn Court. Because he's like, who can blame them? And it really seemed like an act of mercy just given how Lucian was treated for loving someone who wasn't noble. [01:05:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:37] Speaker A: Eris. If he knew she Moore was gay, somehow knew how terrible it would be if she was ever caught with a lover. He also knew the Autumn Court laws would trap her there if he showed any obvious help to her. [01:05:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:48] Speaker A: I don't really understand the vitriol the inner circle has toward him. He's literally like, I hate my dad and want to change the Autumn Court, but I got to put on this front the Jack's way. [01:05:59] Speaker B: Exactly. Exactly. [01:06:01] Speaker A: The inner circle is insanely hypocritical. Eris has explained this to them point blank and they all still hate him. I really don't get it. It has just. It just has to be bad writing. And then River Mysterious said Eris is heavily abused by his father. Why would he want anyone to join his fate before he finds a way out of Autumn Court? Or his father dies and then thigh value. The original poster of the original post is this all falls under says. I think Eris says there is more to the story because Moore never told anyone in the inner circle. The information is available to us though more being a liar does nothing here we get this information from a flashback in a chapter from her point of view. I genuinely don't think Sarah J. Moss is the kind of author that would play with an unreliable narrator. In this case, this person, Lily Webb1 said, in my opinion, the more to the story is that spoiler more is gay. But the only person from the inner circle that officially knows is Feyre. Eris hints at knowing Moore's preferences elsewhere, I believe. [01:06:58] Speaker B: Yeah, he knows, I think. [01:06:59] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm due for a reread soon, so I'll add it to. I'll add it then when I find it. So I think he knows that no More is not interested in being in the Autumn Court, nor is she interested in spending her life married to a man she could never have feelings for. [01:07:11] Speaker B: She was like with some girl from the Summer Court or the Winter Court, right? [01:07:17] Speaker A: There was some. [01:07:18] Speaker B: There was some girl that like that's I think how Feyre found out because she was like kind of sensing Va. Or maybe Nesta knew. I don't know. Know. There was some like it was like an ex girlfriend or something. Do you remember that? [01:07:29] Speaker A: Was it the winner, the Winter Court? [01:07:31] Speaker B: She was like wearing fur, I think, or something. [01:07:33] Speaker A: Was it the Winter Courts, like the. The High lady of the winter. [01:07:38] Speaker B: Oh, maybe they were friends. Daughter. [01:07:40] Speaker A: Weren't they friends? [01:07:41] Speaker B: Okay. And then it was like. But there was something more or something. Yeah, okay. Okay. [01:07:46] Speaker A: I think. [01:07:50] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, if Eris isn't going to be with Azrael though, we got to find him somebody. [01:07:55] Speaker A: Okay. This person has a theory on it. Tan bow 10 and this is under the ACOTAR rant thread on Reddit. And this is called let's Talk about Heiress and his potential Mate Discourse. Okay, says I love reading theories and fanfics of Eris. I love how people portray him differently and the characters people create. However, people tend to go way too far in my opinion about some theories or ships. Lately I've been seeing a lot of discourse of Neris, Nesta and Eris to the point where people will argue with others on how Nesta and Eris belong together and SJM will make it happen, as well as some people misquoting the text just to try and prove their point. It mostly started with the dance scene in a quarter Silver Flames. Yeah, in my opinion, I feel like it was kind of pointless. But I did also understand the political face stand it took. On my first read. I looked at that scene like a lot of the nearest stance did romantically. But now I have a re. Read. Read that now I have reread that scene twice and I look at it differently after reading so many analyses. Okay. And doing my own of Eris's behavior. That we know up to this point, we know Eris is wearing a mask and has to play a part to dethrone his father. And part of that mask was partially the dance. The only real thing I do believe Ayres said was true was when he told Nesta that Rhys is, quote, blind to those he loves, quote and that quote, they believe a version of events that is easier to swallow. Quote. Aris seemed to compliment her, but then somehow insult her sister by saying, they say your sister Elaine is the beauty, but you outshine her. I believe it all ties back to when he said to Cassian later in A Court of Silver Flames to mix truth with lies. I believe Eris did the same with Nesta and that is why some readers took it in different ways. The primary goal was to gain Aeris's full loyalty with the dance. So they used Nesta's dancing skills because the inner circle knows she is a powerful dancer. From the story Elaine told them. The inner circle mentioned before the dance that they want Nesta to seduce Eris but not to bed. Just for him to know that Rhys will not break the alliance. Even more said to Nesta, make him crawl. This was a political setup and Nesta and Eris played it. What Nesta did was enough for Eris to essentially take the bait. [01:10:06] Speaker B: Love it. [01:10:07] Speaker A: Eris is very politically motivated character from a lot of interactions with him. So it's no shock that this move was political. He took the bait and asked for Nessa's hand for probably a whole bunch of different reasons. Reasons he's desperate to dethrone his father and free his court. He saw Nesta as a powerful figure and thought that it would help an alliance between Night and autumn. Etc. We don't 100 know what he thought because he. We don't have his point of view. We do need his point of view. My main point of this post was to stop taking your ships too far. It's gotten to the point, like I said previously, where people will totally misquote a scene or make up a scene to support their nearest fantasies. Yeah. I love it. [01:10:42] Speaker B: Love it. [01:10:45] Speaker A: Yeah. You know what? Let's explore. Let's explore Eris a little bit. [01:10:48] Speaker B: I mean, I had to actually. Wouldn't mind Nessa and eris. [01:10:51] Speaker A: Front View 1249 says, I think Heiress is gay and his mate will be male. Who? I don't know. [01:10:56] Speaker B: I know. I know. Absolutely. It's not going to be Azrael, because they, you know, unfortunately, that's going to live in. On. In fan fiction, I think. Yeah, but. But who? I'm. I'm, like, so mad at myself that I don't know about. I can't. They can't figure out, I think about this man that we were like, we loved him. Is it Crescent City? They, like, we're at some market or something. [01:11:21] Speaker A: Like the Jaguar or something. [01:11:22] Speaker B: Yes, the Jaguar. [01:11:25] Speaker A: You know, I love that. That'd be a little interracial situation you want to explore. Racial. Racial situations. [01:11:30] Speaker B: Yes. [01:11:31] Speaker A: In this story. Yes. [01:11:32] Speaker B: Loved him. All right, more of that. [01:11:34] Speaker A: Yeah. Let's bring him in. Yep. Let's get him in here. [01:11:38] Speaker B: Let's get him in here. Yeah, he's. I mean, he's not doing much over there. Yeah. [01:11:44] Speaker A: Oh, my God. All these books are, like, blending together, like, literally. [01:11:47] Speaker B: I mean, I forgot everything. What I'm worried about, like, finishing Throne of Glass is, like, that it's hard. Like, if you're reading one series and they're all different characters than the series, that you then need to read the next one. Do you remember? Like, it's just, like, it's too much. [01:12:08] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [01:12:09] Speaker B: And then things get. You're like, wait, what? [01:12:13] Speaker A: Okay. There's so many theories to this book. [01:12:16] Speaker B: I know. [01:12:17] Speaker A: I. You know, we're gonna exhaust ourselves. [01:12:19] Speaker B: I know. I almost was like, maybe we should do another episode. [01:12:22] Speaker A: We should. [01:12:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, maybe release it now and then do an episode like before, when there are more theories. [01:12:28] Speaker A: Let's do it. [01:12:29] Speaker B: Okay. Okay. Because this is like. Like, the news is coming out. They're just starting. [01:12:35] Speaker A: But. [01:12:35] Speaker B: But I think that, like, before the. Like, the last book, and then it was like, oh, we could do theories about the. Is it the sixth book? Seventh book. [01:12:46] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. [01:12:46] Speaker B: And then we could do. Before January, more theories about the other one. [01:12:50] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely. [01:12:51] Speaker B: I don't know. [01:12:52] Speaker A: Okay, so workshop. We're just doing. Okay, so two theory episodes before the release of book six. [01:12:58] Speaker B: Yes. Yes. [01:12:59] Speaker A: And then another theory episode before seven. [01:13:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:13:02] Speaker A: Right. I do like finding these, like, Reddits and just, like, reading them because I'm like, I'm not summarizing for you. Let's. Let's just find, like, our favorites. Yeah. [01:13:10] Speaker B: Mikey's gonna be all in. I can't wait to hear his theories. [01:13:14] Speaker A: Mikey, this is for you. [01:13:16] Speaker B: It's for you. We're gonna get our coffee on Saturday, and we're gonna get into it. [01:13:22] Speaker A: Yeah. Ren Fair. [01:13:24] Speaker B: Ren Fair. [01:13:25] Speaker A: If I don't return, [01:13:29] Speaker B: I'LL be in Bristol, Wisconsin. [01:13:31] Speaker A: Jesus Christ. Please. [01:13:34] Speaker B: We're not taking you to Medieval Times or something? [01:13:37] Speaker A: Yeah, I still haven't been to Medieval Mid. [01:13:39] Speaker B: I don't think you want to go there. I don't think. I don't think you. I don't think that's necessary for it to be a stop on you. [01:13:46] Speaker A: A pre read. [01:13:47] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. [01:13:48] Speaker A: All right. Well, I think that does it for today. I think that does it. [01:13:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:13:52] Speaker A: Thank you for tuning in. And remember, if you're feeling the vibe, vibe, rate and subscribe. [01:13:56] Speaker B: Thank you to Christian McCann as always for making sure our sound stays in check, making sure we've got our Diet Cokes, everything. And as always, thank you to the illustrious Lincoln Lodge in Chicago, Illinois, for letting us do our thing. [01:14:12] Speaker A: And what a thing it is. [01:14:13] Speaker B: What a thing it is. Until next time. Bye. [01:14:15] Speaker A: Bye.
